Glenn Barth

Glenn Barth is a effective leader and communicator with over 30 years of ministry experience. Glenn serves as the President of GoodCities.GoodCities helps city leaders combine the good deeds and good news of the gospel into the life of the city to bring about kingdom transformation. It serves kingdom-minded leaders through leadership development aimed at collaborative volunteer mobilization addressing areas of need in their city.
Prior to this he served as COO and National Facilitator of City/Community Ministries with the Mission America Coalition where he guided the development of the Loving Our Communities to Christ initiative. Most recently, Glenn served as President of the Leadership Division of Tentmakers. As a pastor, he has served churches in Ohio, Indiana and Minnesota.
Glenn has worked with city transformation movements at every stage of his ministry beginning in the mid-1970s. He has served as pastor of small, mid-sized and large congregations, giving him a variety of experiences common in churches throughout America today. He has helped pastors and Christian leaders across the nation engage in effective communitywide outreach including intensive relief and recovery work with leaders in Mississippi in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. He served in leadership roles with numerous national evangelistic outreaches including Celebrate Jesus 2000, The Lighthouse Movement, The Book of Hope, and September 11 Remembrance Services He served as a consultant to Mel Gibson’s Icon Productions for distribution and marketing of The Passion of the Christ and Disney’s Chronicles of Narnia.
His personal mission is “to mobilize the church in cities and communities for the transformation of lives and institutions under the Lordship of Jesus Christ by identifying, connecting and resourcing church leaders.” He has served  as Convener for the City Impact Roundtable (2007-2008), as amember of the US Lausanne Committee, the Mission America Committee and the National Prayer Committee. He is a founder of the City Impact Roundtable and co-founder of the Christian Emergency Network.
Glenn has a DMin degree (2008) from Bakke Graduate University in Transformational Leadership for the Global City and an MDiv from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary (1984) where he received the John Tate Memorial Award for Outstanding Potential in the Pastorate and was named Outstanding Student in Theological Studies. He is a 1977 graduate of Denison University. Glenn has the distinction of being named one of the Outstanding Young Men in America for three straight years (1986-88).
